Turns Up The Heat"
Fei and Taipan looked incredulously at the heavy weighted
cape lying on the ground, almost in a slight crater.
Chih looked very confident now.
Koji just looked ready to take Fei apart.
"Well?" Koji began, getting the attention of
his enemies back on him. "What's
the matter, you oversized idiot?
Haven't you ever seen a heavy weighted training cape
before? Let's get
back to business, shall we?"
Koji seemed to disappear from the place where he was
standing and then seemingly reappeared right in front of Fei!
He then caught Fei with a blindingly fast punch to the
face that turned the big android's head and woke him out of his
momentary daze! The
two fighters once more began engaging in an
intense-but-stalemated exchange of hand-to-hand attacks, but Fei
is forced to back up steadily as he struggled to contend with
Koji's unfettered speed and power now!
Taipan looked on in shock, but Chih was not amazed!
"That's it, Koji!" the Nameccian thought to
himself as he now stoically watched his companion take it to Fei.
"With your weighted training cape off, your power
and speed are dramatically improved!
I can sense your true power now!
It's amazing! You're
even surpassing my current power level!"
"What's this?!?" Taipan muttered to himself in
disbelief as he watched the battle and then suddenly noticed his
scouter detecting the teen's climbing energy level.
"He's just passed twenty thousand, and his power
level is still climbing! It's not possible! He's
even stronger than I am in my normal state!
I'll have to transform and deal with him myself!"
After a few moments of stalemated fighting, Koji began
pummeling Fei at will! His
punches and kicks possessed a little more power, speed, and
precision than before, and it was obvious from the look on Fei's
face after each shot impacted with him thunderously, knocking
away bits and pieces of his armor until it was gone and only the
skintight shorts, top, gloves, and boots remained!
Koji then grabbed Fei by the arm and threw him through a
mountainous structure in the landscape, and Fei crashed to the
ground on the other side of the collapsing mountain underneath
the collapsing structure!
Meanwhile, Taipan began preparing to jump into the fray
against Koji, but Chih noticed this!
As Taipan prepared to make his move, Chih seemingly
appeared out of nowhere right in front of him, prompting him to
stop! Taipan and
Chih locked eyes in a staredown for a moment before Chih spoke!
"I don't think so," Chih said in his gutteral
voice as he stood between Taipan and Koji's fight.
"If you're so anxious to fight, how about trying me
on for size?"
"You?" Taipan replied as he started to smile.
"You're strong, but I'm stronger!
I won't even have to transform to beat you! I'll finish you off in plenty of time to help Fei squash the
monkey-boy! You're
on!"
As soon as the words escaped his lips, Taipan found
Chih's fist slamming into them, knocking the gloating Makyoian
backwards across the landscape and into the dirt, where he slid
a great distance before coming to a halt!
Sitting up, he felt the trinkle of blood from his lip
where he'd been punched! He
wiped it off with the back of his fist before rising to his
feet!
"Very good, Nameccian, but you'll rue the day you
sucker punched a Makyoian, you green slug-boy!" Taipan
shouted cockily.
"Is that all you know how to do?
Come up with derogatory insults to hurl at people?"
Chih inquired from above the startled Makyoian, prompting Taipan
to look up to see Chih hovering in the air just overhead by a
few feet. "Is
it because you can't fight any other way, maybe because you're a
coward? If you're
really a warrior, let's see what you've got!"
"Alright then, you green geek!" Taipan growled
in rage as he tensed for action.
"Here I come!"
Taipan flew up at Chih, and the two of them engaged in a
tremendous flurry of hand-to-hand combat techniques, but neither
of them seemed to be able to breach the other's defenses!
Their fighting was no less fierce and intense than Koji's
battle against Fei, and the two caped fighters fought hard to
defeat each other! Both foes' visages revealed their grim determination!
Meanwhile, Fei dragged himself out from under the
collapsed mountainous structure and rose to his feet, looking a
bit more battered now! He
was seething with anger as he glared at Koji from across the
battlefield! He
then drew his hands to his sides, the palms facing forward, and
began charging energy into his hands!
"Now you're gonna get it, kid!" Fei snarled in
his furious anger. "Now
I'm gonna show you a new trick!
It's the sumo zumo!
I hope you like it!"
With a flurry of battle cries, Fei launched a flurry of
energy blasts at Koji while continuously powering up more energy
blasts! Koji began
dodging the blasts left and right, and the blasts exploded with
great force in the distance!
This further infuriated Fei, who finally stopped that
attack, lifted his hand high over his head, and charged up
energy in that one hand!
"Fast ball! Here
it comes!" Fei roared viciously as he threw the energy ball
at the nimble Saiyan.
Koji saw it coming, and he swatted it aside with a
backhand swipe, knocking the energy ball into a mountain where
it exploded with great force!
Fei was even more furious after that!
He flew straight at Koji to attack him with an
overpowering charging attack!
Koji calmly assumed a stance somewhat similar to a
kamehameha stance and charged an ball of energy between his
hands as Fei approached!
When Fei was almost upon him, Koji released the blast
into the charging behemoth with a loud battle cry!
Fei reacted crossing his arms in front of him to shield
himself from the incoming blast, but the energy attack Koji
launched at him was too powerful!
The blast drove Fei backwards into a great mountain,
exploding like a nuclear artillery shell when it and Fei hit the
mountain!
Meanwhile, Taipan and Chih disengaged and prepared to
square off once again! Both
held a defensive fighting stance as they sized each other up!
Chih smiled, confusing Taipan!
"You're good, Taipan," Chih declared as he and
the Makyoian stared into each other's eyes, "but I have a
surprise for you!"
Chih removed his Nameccian cape and discarded it, and it
crashed to the ground with a thud and almost made a crater where
it landed! Taipan stared at the cape and then back at Chih in horrified
realization! At
that very moment, Chih moved in on Taipan and nailed him with a
braced elbow thrust right into the jaw, turning Taipan's head
and bruising his cheek as it knocked him across the battlefield
a great distance before he managed to regain control of his
flight and hover in mid-air!
He looked at Chih in astonishment as he scouter began
reading Chih's growing power level!
"That trick again, eh?" Taipan muttered in
disgust as he observed Chih's confident demeanor.
"Grrrrrrr! Now his power level has far surpassed mine in this state as
well! I'll have to
transform!"
Taipan widely stretched out both of his hands out to the
sides and began a long, drawn-out yell!
Suddenly, his body almost exploded as it bulked up
considerably, and he got a bit taller as well!
His face distorted into a more monstrous appearance, and
his mouth grew in size to look more menacingly!
Chih was incredulous at the sight as he sensed Taipan's
new power!
"Amazing!" Chih muttered to himself as his
confident demeanor broke, displaying his concern.
"His power level just shot up dramatically!
He's a lot stronger than before now!
I don't know if I can beat him, even after discarding my
heavy training cape!"
At that moment, Taipan flew right up to Chih and hammered
him with a big punch to the face, bruising his cheek and
knocking him back quite a distance through the air!
Chih stopped his flight and regained his composure!
He noted Taipan's increased confidence in his taunting
smile! In a flash, Chih flew right back at Taipan, and the two
fighters erupted in another flurry of hand-to-hand combat
techniques!
However, now Chih was being forced back by Taipan, and
the Nameccian was struggling to compete with the transformed
state of Taipan! Taipan
began picking his shots as he soon took to peppering Chih with
shot after shot uncontested!
Soon it became painfully obvious to Chih that he couldn't
compete with Taipan on this level!
Meanwhile, Koji watched as the debris cloud dissipated
over where his blast drove Fei into the mountain and exploded.
For an incredible distance, there were springs and bolts
and other mechanical parts scattered along the landscape.
Koji smiled at the signs of another vanquished foe.
In the other battle still raging, Taipan hit Chih with a
stiff side kick, knocking the Nameccian a great distance away
from him, but Chih stopped his unplanned flight once more and
regained his composure! As
the two fighters hovered in mid-air and engaged in a staredown,
Chih, battered from the battle, smiled, confusing Taipan!
"What are you smiling about, Nameccian?" the
Makyoian monster snarled as he clenched his fists emphatically.
"In just a few minutes, you're going to be fishing
bait on the end of my fishing line!"
"Don't count on it, friend," Chih retorted
confidently as he relaxed just a bit.
"I've got another little surprise for you!"
Chih yelled into the sky as he tensed every muscle in his
body until all the veins in his head, face, and arms bulged!
Suddenly, he began to grow to giant proportions, close to
the proportions of a Saiyan in the hereditary giant ape form,
but Chih's form remained the same with only his size changing!
In all, the transformation took about ten to twelve
seconds to achieve!
"What's this?" Taipan shrieked in shock as he
watched the transformation from begining to end in horror, his
scouter registering the Nameccian's growing power level.
"No way! It
can't be! He's getting bigger! His
power level is going up again!
It can't be!"
At that point, Taipan's scouter exploded and fell from
his face to the ground, not actually harming the Makyoian!
When Chih's transformation was done, he turned his
attention back to Taipan, and Taipan locked eyes with the giant
Nameccian in disbelief!
"That's better!" Chih said as he smiled and
took a fighting stance. "Now,
whenever you're ready, we can resume our skirmish!"
With a cry of rage, Taipan rushed to close the distance
between himself and Chih! When
they erupted into a flurry of hand-to-hand techniques this time,
they appeared to be completely even in the exchange!
Taipan could not force Chih back or deliver a strike to
him, but Taipan's defensive skills were up to the challenge of
preventing Chih's attacks from finding their mark as well!
Their clash continued with renewed intensity, and their
battle echoed across the landscape!
The battle raged for several more moments before Chih
managed to land a punch in Taipan's face, knocking him back a
few steps! In a
rage, Taipan began charging an energy blast in between his
hands! In response,
Chih placed the index and middle fingers of his right hand to
his forehead, charging up energy around his fingers!
Electricity crackled around Chih as he charged his attack
as an energy aura flared around Taipan while he powered up his!
After a great many seconds of charging up their attacks,
the combatants fired their attacks at each other!
Taipan just screamed as he fired his energy blast from
between his hands! Chih
fired a straight beam with a spiraling beam incircling it by
pointing his two charged fingers at Taipan and yelling,
"Special beam cannon!"
The two energy attacks collided between the two fighters,
and there was a building sphere of tension where the two blasts
collided! Electricity crackled at the point where the tension was
building between the blasts!
The two fighters continued to yell as their blasts pushed
against each other! The
very ground beneath the two fighters began to tremble under the
strain of the awesome power being unleashed!
The sky also began to darken, and the wind began to howl!
Small whirlwinds began to form around the two combatants,
and Koji then took note of this!
"Wow!" Koji thought to himself as he watched
the struggle between Chih and Taipan.
"I never knew Chih could transform and increase his
size like that! That
other fighter Taipan has also transformed as well!
Bah! If only
I hadn't lost my tail in the battle against Tarboz, I could use
the moon image technique I learned from my father and end this
right now!"
A couple of minutes later, Chih's special beam cannon
split Taipan's blast in two, sending both halves of it in
opposite directions! As
the two halves of Taipan's blast pass harmlessly along either
side of Chih, Chih's special beam cannon slammed right into
Taipan's chest! The
special beam cannon pierced Taipan's chest protector and erupted
from the shocked Makyoian's back as the blood splattered from
both sides of his penetrated form and from his mouth!
As Taipan's body crumpled to the ground a senseless heap,
Chih breathed a sigh of relief!
At that moment, an energy blast slammed into Koji from
behind, knocking him to the ground, prone and motionless!
Chih turned in horror to see the image of a Changeling!
The Changeling was small, with pinkish skin and straight,
black horns that protruded out of his head horizontally.
He wore a chest protector with shoulderpads and waist
padding flaps, the defenses of Saiyan armor.
He also had a long tail, and he wore a scouter over his
eye. He looked at
Chih with a cold and callous stare.
"Well, hello there, friend," the Changeling
said as he addressed the giant Nameccian.
"I suppose you are Chih, the renowned Nameccian
warrior. I never
thought I'd have the pleasure of meeting you for myself, but the
boy and I are already well acquainted.
You see, my name is Tarboz, and we clashed on the planet
Ferella."
"Tarboz?!?" Chih exclaimed in utter disbelief.
"There's no way!
You were killed on Ferella!
Koji told me so!"
"The boy was sadly mistaken," the Changeling
informed the bewildered Nameccian.
His blast left me buried under quite a lot of rubble at
the end of our battle, but I survived it, nonetheless.
He was quite a handful back then.
If he hadn't transformed into that giant ape creature and
weakened me, I would've finished him off like I did his
father!"
"What?!?" Chih gasped with horror at the
Changeling's words. "You mean ... you killed his father?"
"Yes," Tarboz answered with a smile.
"And now I've come to finish where I left off:
... with the son!"
"No!" Chih interjected as he grimaced in anger
at the notion, assuming a fighting stance to face Tarboz.
"I won't let you!"
"Very good," Tarboz replied with a sly smile.
"You see, I believe you'll hold an advantage over
me, seeing how you're so much bigger than I am.
I think I'll even up the odds a little bit!"
First, the Changeling removed his scouter and tossed it
over next to Taipan's prone, motionless form.
Tarboz then tensed up as he began to transform!
His body began to swell and grow, causing his armor to
explode off of his frame! His
arms grew longer, and then they bulked up beefily!
Then his legs followed suit by first lengthening and then
bulking up! His
tail lengthened and thickened as well! Finally, his horns grew longer, curved at the sides, and
pointed straight upwards as his head became larger!
Electricity crackled around Tarboz's body as the
transformation finally became complete!
"Now," Tarboz said in his deepened voice as he
addressed the surprised Nameccian.
"Shall we get on with it?"
The two giant titans clashed with incredible intensity
and power! They
seemed even in skill and power as they stalemated in their
battle! The clash
continued for a few minutes in this stalemated fashion!
Then they both separated from their close quarters
hand-to-hand combat, and Chih began powering up energy between
his hands while he stared at Tarboz, and Tarboz smiled as he
watched this sight!
"Well, don't make me wait all day," Tarboz
taunted the Nameccian warrior as he smiled a cocky smile.
Building his energy stronger and stronger, Chih began
growling in the effort to generate sufficient energy for his
attack! Tarboz only
smiled as he watched the effort! After finally raising enough energy to suit him, Chih pointed
his hands towards Tarboz and yelled, "Masenko ha!"
Chih's masenko ball streaked towards Tarboz, and he just
extended the palm of one of his hands towards the incoming blast
and waited! When the blast got to Tarboz's hand, Tarboz yelled and
temporarily caught the masenko ball in his hand! With a sudden gesture, Tarboz threw the masenko ball into the
sky where it exploded harmlessly!
This defense astounded Chih!
"I have to say, you really know how to make a guy
feel honored!" Tarboz taunted.
"You brought me fireworks and everything!
Now I have something for you!"
Tarboz began firing eyebeams at Chih, and the giant
Nameccian barely managed to avoid getting hit by the beams!
Eventually, Tarboz stopped firing his eyebeams, and Chih
stopped dodging! The
two once more locked eyes in a staredown for a few seconds
before Tarboz broke the silence!
"Very good, Nameccian!" Tarboz complimented
Chih on his fighting prowess.
"You're every bit my equal in this form, but I have
another surprise for you! When
Koji escaped me on planet Ferella, I had only my original form
and this one, but, in the time that has passed since, I have
grown stronger and acquired a second transformation!"
"What?!?" the Nameccian cried out in disbelief.
"Another transformation?!?
Impossible!"
"Impossible?" the haughty Changeling taunted
the stunned Nameccian. "Why don't I show you then?"
Tarboz tensed his muscles again and began another long,
drawn-out yell! The
ground began trembling slightly as the sky darkened slightly,
the wind began to howl, and Tarboz began to glow!
A few seconds later, the ground began to shake more
strongly, small stones began rising from the ground, and
whirlwinds of flying debris formed around the battlefield! As the whirlwinds grew more intense, the ground began to
shake more violently, and small rocks began splitting, including
the ones that were rising from the ground!
Then, the sky darkened even more, and lightning flashed
in the sky as strong winds blew out from Tarboz in all
directions and huge rocks erupted out of the ground!
By the end of his transformation, the sky went black,
rocks began exploding, and nearby mountains started to crumble!
Also, water in several of the streams around rose up and
parted to the bare floor of the streams, and the ground opened
up to reveal boiling pits of lava all around the battlefield!
Lava even erupted out of the ground between the parted
waves of the streams! Tarboz's form was surrounded by a flaring energy aura, and
electricity crackled all over his body and around and through
his flaring aura!
"What?!?" Chih muttered in abject horror as he
beheld the transformation, raising his arms to shield himself
from the powerful winds gusting out from Tarboz as it pushes
against him with great force.
"This can't be!
He wasn't kidding! He
does have another transformation!"
Tarboz's head got longer and stretched out in the back,
and his horns turned white and curved back towards the back of
his head instead of straight up!
The shoulder protection opened up like a flap, forming
natural shoulderpads! His
nose disappeared, and his face resembled a turtle! Finally, the transformation was complete after about ten or
twelve seconds, and the special effects finally subsided!
Chih looked on in horror!
"You see," Tarboz said as he smiled at Chih.
"I told you I had another transformation. What do you think? I
know it's not much in the looks department, but my power level
is far stronger!"
Chih continued to gawk in total shock and amazement at
the newest transformed state of Tarboz, and Tarboz laughed at
Chih's awe. Chih
looked at Koji's prone and motionless form and then back at
Tarboz. |
