Character Summary
Vegeta is the prince of the Saiyans. He is 6 years older then Goku. He came to Earth along with Nappa, (another Saiyan) to wish for immortality. His attempt was spoiled by being defeated by Goku and the rest of the gang on Earth. He then journeyed to the planet Namek,  in search of the Dragonballs again. (because Piccolo had died and the earth Dragonballs had disappeared). Searching for the Dragonballs he encountered Freeza and joined up with Krillian, Gohan, Goku , and Piccolo (after being wished back with the Dragonballs). Vegeta put up a big fight but did not succeed and began to weep for his actions and being sorry that he was not strong enough to defeat Freeza. Then died at the hands of Freeza. From there on Vegeta joined the Z warriors (after being wished back by the Namekian Dragonballs) Some time later after the Freeza fight Vegeta hooked up with Bulma and had a son named Trunks. He trained Trunks himself. Seeing Goku turn into a Super Saiyan was bad enough for Vegeta. But seeing his own son turn into a Super Saiyan before he did just made him even angrier. He began to train intensely and still did not succeed. When Vegeta was training over 400 times Earth's gravity on another planet he tried to go super Saiyan.  There was a meteor storm and after that he didn't care about being a super Saiyan and didn't care about anything and then at that moment he went Super Saiyan for the first time.  He killed android 19 and helped in the fight with Cell.  After this he began to change and realized that having a pure heart was the secret to Goku's success at becoming as strong as he is. Vegeta then learned to care instead of hurt and became a better fighter after that.  Later in the series Vegeta turns into Majin Vegeta and after being beaten by Goku, he fully realizes that having a pure heart is the only way to be as strong as him.  Vegeta also appears in the GT series and has a Daughter named Bra. Vegeta is the second Super Saiyan to ever go to Super Saiyan Stage 4. (Next to Goku, and he had to cheat with Bulma's Brute ray which made him turn SSJ4)
