Master Roshi was the greatest fighter on Earth until Goku came along. Master Roshi is a great martial artist who trained Goku and Krillin. He taught Goku how to do the Kamehameha attack. He mostly at the Kame House, the meeting place of the Z fighters, with his pet turtle. Master Roshi is also a bit perverted and collects porno magizines.

Yamcha first appeared in Dragon Ball. He was known across the land as the deadly desert bandit who viciously attacked his victims and then robbed them. Later he joins up with the Z fighters. In the beginning of Dragon Ball Z he goes out Bulma but they soon break up and Bulma marries Vegeta. Yamcha is really shy when it comes to women.

Tien is a three eyed human as you can see from the picture and was originally trained to be an assassin under one of Master Roshi's rivals. But after a while, he realized that he did not want to be an assassin and join the Z fighters along with his best friend, Chaiotzu. Tien dosen't have a great role in the Dragonball Z series but he does help in the beginning.

Chiaotzu is a short warrior that wears make-up and a hat. He and Tien trained under Tsursennin, after they saw how evil he was they left him. Chiaotzu is like a brother to Tien and so they are very protective of each other.  Although Chiaotzu doesn't really fight in Dragon Ball Z series besides in the Saiya-Jin Saga, he is not weak fighter but is weak compared to the others and isn't that powerful but he has one good ability which allows him to transport others to the other dimension.  But that also puts transports himself as well. He only uses this technique when he is desperate.  This move is like a Kamikaze attack. He used this move against Nappa.

Dende is a child from Planet Namek. Gohan and Krillin first met Dende while they were searching for the dragonballs on Namek. Dende has a vital part in the Dragonball series and also possesses the power to heal and it was used during the fight against Freeza. Dende later replaces Kami as the guardian of the dragonballs on Earth.

Nail is the protector of the Guru. During the Freeza Saga he was forced to  fuse with Piccolo because he was very badly injured. When they fused Piccolo's power increased greatly and together as one they fought Freeza with all they had.

Guru is the eldest of the Nameks, therefor making him the father of the Nameks. He created the dragon balls on Planet Namek, this was very important because they used them to wish all their friends back. Guru was very weak from the beginning of the saga and later dies after the Z fighters defeat Freeza.
